[ News ] - Prospect of French Solar PV Market

In recent years, the French pv (photovoltaic) market was affected by policy. 

On the one hand, in the first half of 2015, the French newly increased pv installed capacity is 410MW, which is increased about 4.8% on the year-on-year basis.On the other hand, by the first half of 2015, the total amount of French pv capacity has reached 5.7GW. The reason why the steady growth of its pv amount mainly lies in the affection of pv policy.

Data shows by Market Prospect and Investment Strategy Analysis Report of Chinese Photovoltaic Industry that 82% electricity in France comes from nuclear power in August 2015, which is the first place in the world.

Probably, affected gradually by the recent trend of power generation by green energy, French has been trying to reduce reliance on nuclear power in recent years. However, the amount of solar installation in France still lags behind that in Germany, Spain, Italy and other European countries as its renewable energy development are in a fledgling state.

It looks like that France was aware of this point. Then,French National Assembly passed a new law on March 19, stipulating that plants are needed to be grown and solar panels installed in the part of the newly-built roof blocks of commercial areas in the future. Because, it not only can reduce the air pollution, but also may get heat insulation effect of buildings.

Though it is no doubt that France has a long way to go to reduce the amount of electricity generation powered by nuclear power, the speed of French solar photovoltaic development can be more or less accelerated due to this kind of mandatory rules and regulations.

It is estimated that the newly-increased pv installed capacity in France in 2015 is expected to reach 750MW, and the total amount of it would get 6GW!
